Division of Arts & Sciences
The Division of Arts & Sciences is part of the largest college, and the intellectual heart, of Mississippi State University. The division offers a range of undergraduate programs in the social and behavioral sciences (Bachelor of Social Work, BA Criminology, BA Psychology) and the humanities (BA History, BA Liberal Arts) that develop skills in critical reasoning, writing, reading, and deduction that are highly sought after by employers. As such, programs in Arts & Sciences provide a strong foundation both for direct entry into the workforce or for further graduate studies in a range of disciplines. Those interested in combining several fields of study can customize a bachelor’s degree to suit their personal academic and career goals through the BA in Liberal Arts or the BS in Interdisciplinary Studies. For those with technical credits in the healthcare or hospitality fields seeking to earn a bachelor’s degree, we encourage you to explore the possibilities available through our Bachelor of Applied Technology degree in Healthcare Services or Event and Hospitality Services.
Division of Education
With undergraduate and graduate degree offerings on campus and synchronous online, we are well equipped to meet a vast array of academic needs for both entry level and seasoned professionals by providing a wide range of opportunities for anyone interested in educating our children and adolescents! The Division of Education houses programs in traditional P-12 education, such as elementary education and alternate route secondary education (with endorsements in elementary education, special education, computer science, and remedial reading), school counseling, teacher leadership, and school administration. Additionally, we offer programs in community college education, clinical mental health counseling, school psychology and health services psychology to help meet the needs of the community!
