MSU Meridian Campus - Missippi State University

MBA with a concentration in Accounting

Admission to Fall Semester - July 1

Admission to Spring Semester - November 1

Admission to Summer Semester - April 1

If GPA requirements are met, students should seek official admission to the program. It is suggested that the student take the GMAT exam and earn at least a score of 510, and then complete the Graduate Application Package which can be found in Student Services. Submission of the Graduate Package prior to passing the GMAT is discouraged. Students may be admitted in the Unclassified status, but because of space limitations may have difficulty scheduling classes, therefore, official admission is strongly encouraged.

Applicants for the MBA in Accounting program must take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and score a minimum of 510. Admission requires a QPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 points over the last 60 semester hours of baccalaureate work. When the student is deficient in one of the criteria cited, the student's application, nevertheless, may be considered for admission based on the strength of other materials contained in the student's application. However, reasonable minimum levels must be achieved in both the applicant's QPA and GMAT scores. To enroll to take the GMAT, please log on to www.mba.com.

The foundation courses listed below must be completed with a "C" or higher grade either in the candidate's undergraduate program or after enrollment in MSU-Meridian. A "C" or higher is also required for all accounting courses completed as an undergraduate.

Several basic statistics courses may be substituted for Business Statistics I, including Engineering Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, and Forest Measurements. There are other statistics courses offered in various departments that might also be substituted.

Transfer of Graduate Credit

|

Transfer credits may be accepted toward fulfilling the requirements for the master's degree, provided they were earned in programs enjoying full accreditation by the appropriate regional and national accrediting bodies and contribute to the presentation of a systematic program of graduate study. Please note that "C" grades are not acceptable. In no case will transfer credits constitute more than six hours credit of graduate course work.
