Interested in furthering your education or career with a Master of Business Administration?
Then come out to Mississippi State University-Meridian on Tuesday, August 2 for a free M.B.A. information session. The session will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in room 112.
“We get many inquiries about the M.B.A. programs we offer at MSU-Meridian and what the requirements are,” noted Dr. Seungjae Shin, interim associate dean of the division of business.
“We thought offering this information session would provide a great service to the people in our area who want to expand their knowledge of the business world by earning a graduate degree,” added Shin.
A student in the M.B.A. program at MSU-Meridian, Logan Davis testifies that working on his M.B.A. degree has been a worthwhile investment both for him personally and professionally.
“I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2008, and moved to Meridian to take a job as a pharmacist with Vital Care, an integrated home infusion and specialty pharmacy serving patients in the community and throughout the Southeast,” said Davis.
“Over time my job has evolved into a business development and management position, and I felt that my general business knowledge and skills were lacking. I had been thinking about pursuing a M.B.A. since my graduation from pharmacy school, and in 2009 I decided to apply for admission to the M.B.A. program at Mississippi State University in Meridian,” he added.
“Before applying I evaluated many programs across the country, as there are many "online classroom" degree programs offered by prestigious universities. I concluded my search and chose Mississippi State University-Meridian because I value the opportunity to interact in a real classroom with fellow students and professors. Since beginning the program in 2010, I have been very pleased with my experience taking night classes at the university while maintaining a full-time job. I believe that earning a M.B.A. at MSU-Meridian will well equip me to integrate my professional expertise as a pharmacist with business management skills,” he concluded.
Topics covered at the information session will include curriculums for the M.B.A. and M.B.A. in Accounting programs, admission requirements, information about the Graduate Management Admission Test ®(GMAT®), and an opportunity to speak to several of the business professors and business advisor.
