BAT-Event and Hospitality Services

The Bachelor of Applied Technology (B.A.T.) degree with a concentration in Event and Hospitality Services offers students who have completed technical course work in hospitality, marketing management, and related customer-focused professions at the community college the opportunity to apply up to 28 of those hours toward completion of a Bachelor’s degree. The concentration focuses on courses in management, marketing, tourism, and service-focused areas to prepare graduates for a diverse social and cultural environment.

The US Department of Labor statistics projects the hospitality and leisure industry as one of the top 10 growth industries over the next 10 years. The travel and tourism industry currently represents the fourth largest sector of employment in Mississippi.

Graduates of this program will be qualified to assume leadership roles in event and hospitality services, including food services, gaming, lodging, and event planning, and management.
