MSU-Meridian’s Professional Master of Business Administration (MBA) program combines the rigor of a traditional MBA program with the instructional flexibility that working professionals desire. Whether you have recently graduated from an undergraduate program or have been working in your field for years, our program can assist you in achieving your career goals. Applicants with more than five years of professional work experience may even qualify for a waiver of the GMAT/GRE requirement.
Located in the Robert B. Deen, Jr. building, a 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art teaching facility on MSU-Meridian’s Riley Campus in the heart of downtown Meridian, the program offers small class sizes taught by faculty members who collectively have over 100 years of industry work experience.
You can begin the Professional MBA program during any term: summer, fall, or spring and complete your program of study in a little over two years. Our hope is that you will find it is a good fit for your professional and personal life.

Description
The Professional MBA degree offered at the Mississippi State University-Meridian Riley Campus is the MBA educational choice for professionals in the east Mississippi and west Alabama region. Courses are taught in the Deen Building, an elite “state of the art” teaching facility on the MSU Meridian Riley Campus, located in the heart of the historic business district in downtown Meridian, Mississippi.
As a vital part of the downtown business community, students in the Professional MBA Program have access to the school’s close working relationship with the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation (EMBDC) and its many organizational partners. Students can connect with the Mississippi State University Small Business Development Center located on the Riley campus. Further, students have access to the MSU career center to assist in professional job opportunities both now and in the future. Indeed, students in the MSU Professional MBA Program have the unique opportunity to network with business companies on both a regional and national level.

Course Delivery
Students have the flexibility to enter the Professional MBA program any semester of the year. Two to three MBA courses (evening face-to-face & blended formats) are offered each semester (fall, spring, summer). Students have the choice of taking any number of courses available or none at all. As such, students can achieve an MBA degree in less than 2 years, depending on the student’s desired graduation timetable. In fact, the Professional MBA Program is designed to offer students great flexibility such that individuals can graduate at their own pace, while balancing work and life activities.
Admission Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- A competitive GPA
- A competitive GMAT or GRE scored administered within the last 5 years
- GMAT or GRE exam submission may be waived if record of significant professional work experience is provided
- Professional experience of greater than 5 years is required. Evidence of employment record must be included. Applicants with a Master’s degree or higher would also be considered for the GMAT/GRE waiver
- Approval of a GMAT/GRE waiver does not imply admission to the full-time MBA on the Starkville campus or the distance MBA
- GMAT or GRE exam submission may be waived if record of significant professional work experience is provided. Click here for the GMAT/GRE waiver form and instructions
- A Meridian MBA student wishing to transfer to the full-time or distance program would be required to have a competitive GMAT or GRE administered in the last 5 years
- For international applicants, a TOEFL or IELTS score administered in the last 2 years

- BQA 2113 Business Statistical Methods I
- BQA 3123 Business Statistical Methods II
- FIN 3123 Financial Management
- EC 2123 Principles of Microeconomics
- BIS 3233 Management Information Systems
Completing the MBAMath module allows students to replace most lower prerequisite grades, and/or courses not taken.

- Official transcripts from all schools previously attended (International applicants not holding degrees from U.S. institutions are required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. The College of Business requires a minimum TOEFL score of 575 PBT, 233 CBT, or 84 IBT or an IELTS score of 7).
