Located on the Riley Campus of the University of Mississippi-Meridian, the program has access to two prominent Mississippi health care systems. The historic Rosenbaum Health Science building provides state-of-the-art educational technology in an atmosphere of historic elegance.
*Mississippi State University-Meridian has applied for Accreditation - Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Mississippi State University-Meridian anticipates matriculating its first class in January 2020, pending achievement of Accreditation-Provisional status at the September 2019 ARC-PA meeting.
Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class of students.
We anticipate a site visit from our accrediting body in April 2019. After this visit, the accrediting body will convene to discuss accreditation. If all goes as planned, the program may be granted Accreditation-Provisional in fall 2019.
The program will not admit students if the accrediting body does not grant Accreditation-Provisional.
