The Waivers listed below are available to all MSU-Meridian students that are eligible and should be submitted to Lynda Gist in the Office of Student Services.

Bachelor of Applied Science Tuition Remission Program

GPA: 2.00+

Award Information

You will receive 50% off tuition and fees each semester you are enrolled in the BAS program and continue to teach in an applied science or technology field at a community college.

  • If you are a Non-Resident Student, the Non-Resident portion of your tuition will also be waived.
  • To apply for this program, please upload your employment letter in your application portal upon admission.

*By receiving this tuition remission, you are not eligible for university scholarships however, you can still receive Financial Aid.

Non-Resident Fee Waiver for West Alabama Counties

Mississippi State University-Meridian received approval in 2013 from the Institutions of Higher Learning to waive nonresident charges for Alabama residents in six Alabama counties; Sumter, Greene, Choctaw, Hale, Marengo, and Clarke. Please contact the Office of Student Services for more details at 601-484-0234.

Senior Citizen Waiver

Award Information
Waiver covers tuition only for six credit hours per semester for students 60 years of age and over.

Award Criteria

  • Verification of age.
  • Legal Mississippi resident.
  • Maximum 18 hours per academic year.

Veteran, Service-Member, Dependent, Spouse, Non-Resident Tuition Waiver

Award Information
The difference between resident and non-resident tuition is waived for veterans, active duty service members and their dependents.

Award Criteria

  • The veteran/service member shall complete and submit the following documentation:
    • The Veteran, Service Member, Dependent Non-Resident Tuition Waiver Request PDF here.
    • Enclose veteran/service member's DD214 or NGB22 indicating an Honorable Discharge or
    • Other documentation such as:
      • *Military ID Card
      • *Active Duty Orders
      • *Dependency verification documentation
  • Return application and all documentation to the Center for America's Veterans, 250 Bailey Howell Drive, Miss. State, MS 39762
