History

The division has been a part of MSU-Meridian for forty years beginning with Interdisciplinary Studies and Social Work degrees. Since 2000, the division has added degrees in Psychology, English, History, Communications, Criminology, General Liberal Arts, and most recently the Bachelor of Applied Technology degree in Healthcare Services and Event and Hospitality Services. As the division has grown, its contribution to the campus has grown to more nearly match the scope of offerings provided by the College of Arts & Sciences (A&S) in Starkville. Students in both of the other divisions enroll in many A&S classes to meet their degree requirements. For that reason, the A&S division produces the largest number of "credit hours" at the MSU-Meridian.
